Ice templating for Regenerative Medicine

Using ice to define cell-guiding frameworks for healing

The talk will describe the challenges in using ice templating and other technologies to create novel, complex and biomimetic 3D environments for the control of tissue growth adaptable to a wide range of medical applications.

Professor Ruth Cameron, Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy, University of Cambridge

Ruth Cameron is (joint) Head of Department of the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy, a director of the Cambridge Centre for Medical Materials and the Senior Fellow at Lucy Cavendish College. She was awarded the UKSB President’s Prize in 2017, the IOM3 Griffith Medal and Prize in 2018, and the IOP Rosalind Franklin Medal and Prize in 2019. Her research concerns materials that interact therapeutically with the body.
